2D ECHO (Heart Scan)
2D ECHO is the test which is used to find out if a child has heart disease or not. It takes around 10 minutes to do the test. It is like an ultrasound and does not harm the baby / child. Dr. Prem Alva has performed more than 80,000 echocardiograms in newborn babies, infants and older children. He is also specialized in 3D ECHO which is used in certain diagnosis and situations before procedures. 2D ECHO gives clarity in the diagnosis and helps to plan further treatment and management of children with heart diseases. A detailed report will be available immediately after the test.
ECG
ECG is a simple out-patient test which involves connecting the chest to an ecg machine and it gives the pattern of electrical activitity of the heart. It is a painless test. This takes less than 5 minutes to do.
CHEST X-RAY
Chest X-ray is taken to have a visualization of the chest structures like the size and shape of the heart, lungs, blood vessels, bony chest structures etc. It takes less than 10 minutes to do and involves minimal radiation which is within the safe limits. This test can be done in under 10 mins.
